| Try something like "Mrs. Stewart's Liquid Bluing" I found it at the grocery store next to the laundry bleach products. Here's what the label says: "White fabric turns yellow or gray with age and repeated washings. Bluing restores the sparkling whiteness. Works on synthetics as well as natural fabrics without harming fibers like bleach can." |
Where can I find affordable nurses uniforms in NYC? I would like to buy affordable scrubs. (Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn.) I'm not interested in buying from online, but if someone who knows a couple of places where scrubs are cheap, please let me know. Thanks. |
| Walmart carries a nice line of uniforms that are durable and affordable! |
What do Navy Nurses uniforms look like now? Do that still wear the white dresses like they used to? Or is it pants now? Just curious! Thanks! |

How do female American Muslim registered nurses deal with uniforms? I've been looking online trying to find long sleeve scrub shirts for nursing and all I'm finding is women nurses in short sleeve V-neck scrubs. |
| I don't know the uniform law in the USA for a nurse. But I have been told by professionals that in the theatre it is not good to have long sleeves. |
Should nurses be forced to change there uniforms before going home? should nurses be forced to change there uniforms before going home ,as they walk around shops and supermarkets spreading diseases like mrsa , e-coli , typhoid , hepatitus , maybe its about time we sued them for transporting all these germs , we could use the same guidelines as with the foot and mouth crisis , only nurses are the cattle , what do you think ? |
| No, I like to see hot nurses walking around |
Why are nurses allowed to go home in their uniforms, then going back full of bugs!? nurse's uniforms should be clean and sterile as possible at all times. |
| I am a radiographer and would never dream of going to and from work in my uniform, although i know lots of staff who do just because they are lazy. My hospital is trying to crack down on this but some staff claim that they have no changing facilities. Also some people u might see are community nurses who may be helping a patient to shop or taking them to an appointment. but i completely agree with u |
Why did they change nurses uniforms? there was a time when a man went to A&E with a broken arm it was a pleasurable experience now its just so depressing
nurses used to look great now they look awful
come on!!! who find green slacks or pink scrubs sexy
should i start a campaign to bring back the good uniforms? |
yes bring them back!!
here in thailand they still have the old kind, i think it makes the nurses look and feel fresher. |
Where can you get nurses uniforms in beaverton oregon? Any type of store that will be ok |
| I live in another state, sorry. BUT since no one else can offer advice/suggestions I would recommend calling the local hospital(s) or Dr. office(s) and just say, "I I'm going into nursing (or something of the sort) and I was just wondering where are some places in the area to purchase uniforms?" Don't feel silly, they should be glad to help point a fellow nurse in the right direction, and besides they don't know who u r , they probably get those calls all the time if there isn't an obvious nursing supply store around. |

Ah I agree to some extent....but like a previous poster said the nurses are not the only ones to balme. There are many visitors to hospitals that don't know, or don't follow infection control protocol. Many infact don't even wash their hands when leaving the hospital. Hand washing is the number one was to stop infection from spreading. In many hospitals they are not required to change clothes before leaving work. In every hospital or health care facility they should prectice universal precautions this includes wearing gloves, a gown, and masks in needed infectuous situatuions. This is supposed to protect both the patient, the staff member, and the public. In theroy this should keep any clothes and the staff member from becoming infected. And if they were to have become contaminated many of the diseases infectinos you have mentioned do not live outside the body very long making it even more unlikely to be transmitted this way.
I have seen many, many people that wear their work clothes outside of the care setting, but who would want to? Its just gross, even if your clothes have not been contaminated.
Universal precautions refers to the practice, in medicine, of avoiding contact with patients' bodily fluids, by means of the wearing of nonporous articles such as medical gloves, goggles, and face shields. Medical instruments, especially scalpels and hypodermic needles should be handled carefully and disposed of properly in a sharps container. Pathogens fall into two broad categories, bloodborne (carried in the body fluids) and airborne. Standard universal precautions cover both types.
Universal precautions should be practiced in any environment where workers are exposed to bodily fluids, such as:
Blood
Semen
Vaginal secretions
Synovial fluid
Amniotic fluid
Cerebrospinal fluid
Pleural fluid
Peritoneal fluid
Pericardial fluid
Bodily fluids that do not require such precautions include:
Feces
Nasal secretions
Urine
Vomitus
Perspiration
Sputum
Saliva (In the dental setting, saliva is likely to be contaminated with blood, and should be handled properly.) |
