| HELP TRAVELING HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT BOARDING YOUR DOG? I will be traveling to visit family for 10 days with my family for spring break..we have booked a hotel room at $215.00 nightly so that we can accomodate our 6 month old Toy fox Terrier named Scooby..I am willing to pay this price because my baby should not be left overnight with anyone else..my brother called and said that there is an awesome place in the area that would literally cut our stay and we would literally pay 1/3 of what we are spending..mind you my family is full of dog lovers and all of my family uses this facility for daycare, vet and everything to pamper their fur babies..I AM TERRIFIED TO LEAVE HIM OVERNIGHT!! He does attend daycare three times a week and on the other two says he has his own room in my office to relax and whatever else he wants to do..it sounds good, I have talked to the staff, my family has sent pics, and they even did a video conference with me..the facility is very posh and clean and it doesnt have all of those ugly wire cages..the dogs actually has nice cots like the have in daycares with cubby holes, heated floors and a professional vet on site at all times..and I can even do the Live Spy Cam online.. I am very impressed but this is MY BABY ..my family are DOG LOVERS and they treat their pets like Kings and Queens..please share your experience on the boarding issue ..this is the main point of the question BOARDING...because if it is cost effective and an awesome solution it is not a bad thing to save..but if it is not a good answer then I will foot the note!! | It depends on the dog. We had one that we could board and one that we couldn't. He just 'shut down.' We had to cut our vacation short that year because the dog would not eat, drink, or anything. The guy at the kennel was great and phoned us (before cellphones, this was quite a feat, but he did it) and we came home early. Our next dog was no problem in the kennel. He was always extra-glad when we got him back, but he didn't mind being boarded for awhile. Give your fur-baby a trial run of a night in a boarding kennel. See how it goes. If he can handle it, use the kennel your brother recommends. Some dogs have no trouble at all with places like that. Yours may well be one of them, but you'll never know if you don't try it out. |

| Is it okay to spy on your teens? My husband uses several tactics to learn what my (his step guyren) are doing. His endeavors have discovered some activities such as occasional drinking and smoking pot which we addressed. My husband uses many tools: Website Monitoring, hacking into their my-space accounts, monitoring email, reading their cell phone text messages, listening to their phone calls & the like. In addition, he has procured drug and alcohol tests and has told the guys that he will make test them upon suspicion. My guys, girl aged 17 and boy almost 15 are basically good guys. They have done some wrong things but overall, I trust them. Recently, my husband installed live web cams that point out into our yard and driveway. The cameras transmit to his work computer when movement occurs. I feel uncomfortable with what I can only describe as "spying". My husband is adament that he is in the right. My guyren are starting to hate their step father. I am trying to get us into marriage counseling soon. |

Also they are your guyren not his, if you feel he is going to far then you need to stop him whether or not he think he's right. They are your guyren and you decide how they are raised. | Just remember what you feed your mind stays there. If you read or listen to upbeat music that really calms you down, then do that. Stay away from stuff that is harmful, even people that are not nice and cruel to you. You have the right to a happy life. It's what you feed your mind is what makes you a human being. So continue to do good things. Now you may not be able to control what is in your head but you can learn to repeat certain sentences that will help your memory to absorb good things. Say to yourself daily "I am a good person. No one is ready my thoughts. How can they? My thoughts are in MY head, not theres. No one is out to get me. That's silly. People like talking to me and being my friend. I love myself. I can overcome this and have a happy, beautiful life." You can put these phrases on 3x5 cards and read them over and over. What this does is reinforces your mind of good things, so when the bad pop up, you will remember these good phrases and they will be there MORE Instead of the bad. You can find other good sentences to add to your collection. Get a 3x5 plastic box to put your cards in. Refer to them daily. Write them on your binder outside cover. Paste them inside your locker. The more and more you have the good thoughts, that part of your brain will kick in to the good and you will start feeling better, even on your meds. | It seems the going rate varies quite a bit depending on the area you live in. We are in a small area and WI and it's much less then bigger areas. Ask her what she usually gets and go with that. She should know, or ask others around you. Also, I would make sure you know other people she has sat for before. I would let he know if there are any food allergies, etc, how she can reach you, eergency numbers, etc. And bedtimes, tv shows they're allowed to watch, how much tv you allow them to watch. And, one of the big thigs, no friends of hers ober and you don't want her on her cell phone calling friends or text messaging. Last time I had a sitter, she spet hours texting rather then playing with the guys. Now my girls are old enough and they sit and I make sure they play with the guys! They have a blast sitting, seems once they get a little older, they're at the age they'd rather hang with friends then sit but mine are still young enough they enjoy playing with the guys and love the chance to make some money!
