| This does sound like a toxic relationship. I know this might not be what you want to hear, but the only way out for her may be to learn the hard way. If she ends up "pregnant, penniless, and homeless", as you say she might learn her lesson. I know tons of nice guys, but I also know guys that are manipulative and I completely understand your situation. I think she's just basking in the glory of newfound love and hasn't completely understood the consequences of the path she is taking with her boyfriend. They only person who can change this situation is her. The best you can do is try to contact her, and tell her everyone is worried about her, but ultimately I'd suggest that you don't mingle in her business otherwise your friendship could end up badly. Hopefully when she realizes her mistake she'll come to her senses and come back to you. Good luck. p.s. | I know it'll be hard but if you get a chance to talk to her I don't recommend insulting her boyfriend. You need to find a way to get back in her and right now the only people she is seeing are approved by her boyfriend. Once you slowly build a relationship with her (I recommend trying to spend some time with them as a couple because it he means a lot to her) you should talk about a "friend" of yours who is in a bad relationship. Don't make it obvious you've made this person, let her see the commonalities by herself with your "friend". | Is this a well-written summary of the first episode of Trigun? (Wrote this for my elective journalism class, we are practicing writing for extreme situations so I chose an anime.) Trigun begins in a small-town bar. Two men are gossiping about the ‘Humanoid Typhoon'; a man that goes around destroying towns unmercifully and without a care. This man is wanted for a large reward and people are searching all over for him. They describe him as being blonde and wearing red. After a while, the bar gets a surprise. A group of men with guns shoot at the town bar until only one person is left unnerved and uninjured; a blonde-haired man, wearing red, and concealing his face with a pair of sunglasses. (Later his name is stated as Vash the Stampede but these men are convinced he is the Humanoid Typhoon and they’re going to capture him.) A small battle breaks out between the group of men and Vash. The battle slowly moves away from the town and the next scene features an aftermath discussion by two town’s people. They discuss the damage and mention that no one was killed in the battle or destruction of the bar and surrounding area. They describe who they believe to be the 'Humanoid Typhoon' as having short legs and wearing red. Two girls (Later known as insurance sales girls; Meryl Stryfe and Millie Thompson) walk into a town restaurant, occupied by only men. Both give their order and question the men about the ‘Humanoid Typhoon’ everyone is looking for. The waiter gives them a description. The girls are told that the 'Humanoid Typhoon' has a mohawk and wears a red outfit. Vash is underground, hiding from a large man with a green mohawk, named Descartes, and his assumed minions. One of the men find Vash, and Vash knocks him out, steals his bullets and weapons and goes to leave the vicinity. Descartes and his group find Vash trying to escape, shoot at him, capture him, and tie him up as their captive. Meryl and Millie, from the restaurant; enter the scene by trying to start a small conversation with Descartes. They talk about their job, and how it is to report damage and discourage further damage. Descartes ignores the girls and accuses Vash of being the ‘Humanoid Typhoon.’ The girls watch from a small distance and Meryl grows upset. Before she can speak her mind, a man in a brown and red trench coat appears standing on a cliff above them, with a large gun aimed directly at Descartes. He accuses Descartes as being the ‘Humanoid Typhoon’ and states he is there to capture him for the reward; as he is a bounty-hunter. This bounty-hunter’s name is Loose Ruth. A large battle ensues about which of the 3 men are the actual ‘Humanoid Typhoon,’ since they all fit the description. Since Vash is all about and for peace, he runs off with Meryl and Millie to leave Descartes and Ruth fight. Meryl gives Vash some money, food and a means of transportation in return of him to travel into the nearest town to warn villagers of the battle and possible future damage. The girls state that it's their job to go back to the battle scene to record the on-going destruction. Descartes ties the girls up when they return to the scene, as he and Loose Ruth teamed up when they realized neither one of themselves were the real 'Humanoid Typhoon.’ Vash returns and clumsily saves Meryl and Millie. The giant Descartes backs Vash onto a cliff edge and gives him two choices: jump, or be killed. Vash chooses to be killed and evades the boomerang, defeating both Descartes and Loose Ruth temporarily. The girls begin to celebrate the evil men’s defeat when Ruth's bombs blow up; destroying the local town they meant to save. Meryl writes off that Vash cannot possibly be the 'Human Typhoon' that everyone is after, because he is far too clumsy. Vash walks off into the distance as the town folk mention that no one was killed in all of the destruction. |
| It's an accurate summery, (I love Trigun.) but There's no drama. It's a little on the boring side and that was a really great episode. People like a little Drama, even with news stories. Also it has too much 'fluff and filler." If you're writing for extreme situations, then you want to bring that tension to the reader. People read to be informed, but more importantly, they read to be entertained, and this isn't doing it. Sorry to be harsh. |

Once he finally gets a job, that may help him move on from this obsession. You may also help him look into school. Maybe a community college?
